Martha Fertman is an internationally recognized senior teacher of the Alexander Technique. Her experiences as a young dancer led her to begin studying the Alexander Technique.
In 1976, after a 10-year apprenticeship with Marjorie Barstow, she began teaching dancers and other performers. She was also instrumental in establishing a successful and innovative training program for teachers of the technique in 1983. She continues to direct this program today, known as the Philadelphia School for the Alexander Technique.
In addition, Martha has initiated and mentored teacher training programs in Germany, Japan, Toronto, Canada, and Houston, Texas.
