Caren Bayer is the director and founder of Manhattan Center for the Alexander Technique, which opened in 2001. In 1984 she received her certification in London from Patrick MacDonald, and has maintained a private practice in New York City since. She has been on the faculty of Pacific College for Oriental Medicine and currently a teaching affiliation with The New School for Social Research. Caren is a former dancer, and longtime student of the martial arts, Polarity therapy, Cranio- Sacral therapy and meditation. She is currently teaching Tai Chi Chuan with many of her students in NYC. Caren brings 30 years of movement research to her teaching and has been traveling to teach the technique throughout the world.
