Dorothea Magonet completed her training in London, in 1984. Since then she has worked full-time in private practice and with music students at the Royal Academy of Music. In the early 90s she has organized the first two International Conferences on Teaching Alexander Technique in Music Conservatoires, which continue to take place every three years. From 1994 until 2004 she served on STAT Council.
Dorothea teaches on the Shaw Method of Swimming training course and is now training to be an Art of Swimming teacher. She is the Main Assistant at the Westminster Alexander Teacher Training Course, London, and a STAT Moderator. She teaches in London and regularly runs workshops for performers in the UK, Estonia and Japan.
She is also a practicing and exhibiting visual artist.
